Debbie O’Connor

Recreation Supervisor

Debbie came to the City of Lenexa in 1982 as an Assistant Community Center Manager. She served in that role from 1982 until 1987 and has been a Recreation Supervisor from 1987 to the present. She received her CLP (Certified Leisure Professional) in 1988. She began her college career as an Art Major at Northwest Missouri State University, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation.

Her professional life before Lenexa began as the Special Events Coordinator for the City of St. Joseph, Missouri. As a teen, Debbie attended the Midwestern Music & Art Camp on the campus of Kansas University during several summers.

Debbie is a "True Midwestern Gal" at heart! She was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri and has been residing and working in Johnson County, Kansas for the past 18 years. She lives in Overland Park with her husband, son, and black lab (Katie). When time allows, she enjoys being a spectator at her son's sports activities, antiquing, and doing work for a nationally recognized charity.
